Chocolate Brownie

Makes 16 small squares

 

1 cup raw filberts

1/2 cup raw almonds

2 - three inch true cinnamon sticks

4 Tbsp cacao nibs

12 medjool dates, pitted and destemmed.

1/2 cup raw almond butter

3 Tbsp raw shredded organic coconut

 

Soak raw almonds in filtered water overnight.  Drain and rinse well with filtered water.

Place filberts and almonds in food processor and process until finely ground.

Grind cinnamon sticks in an herb grinder and add to food processor.

Grind cacao nibs into a fine powder in an herb grinder and add to food processor.

Add dates and almond butter and process until thoroughly mixed.

Press tightly and evenly into a 8 inch by 8 inch square pan.

Sprinkle with shredded coconut.

Cut into squares when ready to serve.

Refrigerate covered for up to a week.

Best when refrigerated at least overnight before eating.
